THE STORY OF BWTMS
Rimaco (M) Sdn Bhd began as a company providing offshore catering, manpower supply, and barge rental services. As the market saturation increased, Rimaco ventured into processing equipment.
1977
Bumi Wangsa Sdn Bhd (BW) was established to focus on instrumentation and controls equipment.
1983
Received the Most Consistent Representative Award by Fisher Rosemount USA
1985
- BW collaborated with Interbrand Sdn Bhd, a specialist in electrical, power generation and telecommunication systems
- Received the Outstanding Progress Award in recognition of the excellent growth in sales volume achieved by SOR Inc
- Received the Outstanding Safety Achievement by ExxonMobil
1988
- Received the Strategy Business Achievement Award for Brooke Compact Prover Dominance in Malaysia offshore industry by Fisher Rosemount USA
- Received the Project Success Award for Lawit Offshore Esso Production (M) Inc and M1/M3 project Sarawak Shell Malaysia by Fisher Rosemount USA
- Received the Goal Achievement Award in recognition of achieving the business goal for Rosemount Measurement and Fisher Rosemount System
1994
Received the Outstanding Performance Award from August System (An ABB Group of Company) to Bumi Wangsa Sdn Bhd
1996
Received the Outstanding Performance Award by SOR Inc
1997
Received a Certificate of Appreciation from PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd for the successful completion of Resak Onshore Gas Terminal and Resak First Gas Production
2000
Tanjung Maintenance Services Sdn Bhd (TMS) was established and started its operations
2001
- TMS obtained a PETRONAS license
- Received Outstanding Performance Award by SOR Inc
2002
- TMS received the first contract from PGB – Lube Oil Change Out, followed by other major contracts from PCSB and other OPUs
- BW bought out Petrotech Inc, in which BW started as a Sole Exclusive Agent to Petrotech Inc
2003
- Received Outstanding Performance Award for attaining 192% of quota by SOR Inc
- Received the Diamond Award from ABB to Bumi Wangsa Sdn Bhd in recognition of outstanding sales contribution
2004
- Received a Certificate of Appreciation from PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd for Bekok-C Shutdown 0 LTI for achieving 5,725 man-hours
- Successful completion of Valve Repair KR1 & 2 Turnaround 2005 by Tanjung Maintenance Sdn Bhd (TMS)
2005
TMS received Excellent Achievement in BPA Turnaround February 2006
2006
- BW was appointed as one of PETRONAS’s Vendor Development Programme (VDP) Vendor for the Wellhead Control Panel
- BW’s fabrication yard in Pasir Gudang, Johor was set up to design, manufacture and fabricate Electrical & Instrument Control Panels (E&I) and specialise in Wellhead Control Panel
- Received a Certificate of Appreciation from PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd for the contribution from both Bumi Wangsa & Rimaco towards the success of the Sumandak SUPG-B MCD Project
- Excellent Sales Achievement by SOR Inc
- TMS awarded the Term Contractor Performance by PETRONAS Chemicals Ammonia Sdn Bhd
2007
- Rimaco (M) Sdn Bhd merged with Bumi Wangsa Sdn Bhd
- Excellent Sales Achievement by SOR Inc
- Received a Certificate of Appreciation from PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd for the contribution from both Bumi Wangsa & Rimaco towards the success of the Sumandak SUPG-B MCD Project
- Outstanding Achievement in HSSE by PETRONAS Penapisan (Terengganu)
2008
Procured and installed the biggest Wellhead Control Panel in Asia for SHELL Malaysia
2009
- Received the Vendor Performance Appraisal Certification from PETRONAS Methanol Sdn Bhd Labuan for the excellent support from September 2010 to February 2011
- Received the Safety Recognition Award from ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc for Hurt-Free Operation < 100,000 manhours
- Received a Certificate of Appreciation from SCM Management Team of PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd for outstanding delivery performance for the year 2010/2011
- 5 Million Safe Manhours Achievement by PETRONAS Penapisan (Terengganu)
2011
BW graduated from PETRONAS’s VDP and continued to be competitive in the market
2012
BW receives a Certificate of Appreciation from SHELL Malaysia for Outstanding Delivery Performance
2015
BW merged with TMS and became Bumi Wangsa TMS Sdn Bhd
